You will work as part of the Nursing Education, Development and Professional Practice (NEDPP) team, providing an effective and reliable level of clerical and administrative support. The role is ideal for someone who has some administration experience and is keen to learn, develop new skills and work towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification.
You will support day-to-day administrative tasks, help colleagues across the team and provide a friendly, helpful first point of contact for staff and learners. With guidance and support from experienced colleagues, you will develop confidence using office systems, organising tasks and delivering good customer service in a busy NHS environment.
Main duties of the job
- Deal with routine enquiries in a pleasant and helpful manner, providing information or referring queries appropriately.
- Answer calls, take messages and pass on accurately to the relevant departments or individuals.
- Support room bookings and maintain up-to-date calendars, ensuring electronic diaries are kept current.
- Assist with organising meetings and events, including ordering refreshments.
- Carry out clerical duties using Microsoft Office suite and producing documents using Trust templates.
- Input, monitor and print reports from internal systems, ensuring accuracy.
- Ensure general office supply levels are monitored.
- Support the wider administrative team with day‑to‑day tasks.
- Help maintain a supportive and efficient working environment.
- Promote the image of the department by checking that documents are up to date and well presented.

Requirements
In order to be a successful Apprentice Administrator in our team you will be:
- NVQ2 or equivalent / good standard of secondary education; GCSE at Grade C or above.
- Previous experience of working in an administrative environment using computerised data systems.
- Experience of working in a customer service environment.
- Clear communicator with good writing, data entry and telephone skills, ensuring accuracy.
- SPFT staff have the capacity to work from home remotely where applicable and in agreement with your line manager.
