Position Overview

The Institute for Study Abroad is seeking an instructor to teach a course entitled “Nutrition and Disease Prevention” for the IFSA Health Sciences Career Accelerator (HSCA) programme over the upcoming Fall semester. The HSCA program provides medicine, nursing, public health, and health‑care administration students with an opportunity to continue progress toward their degree and gain valuable international and practical experience.

Within the HSCA, the Nutrition and Disease Prevention course provides an overview of the principles of human nutrition with an emphasis on the prevention and management of disease. It explores the biological mechanisms by which nutrients affect health, the role of diet in chronic disease development, and the influence of cultural, socioeconomic, and political factors on dietary patterns. Students will examine evidence‑based guidelines, engage in case studies, and analyze dietary data to inform health‑promoting behaviors and policy awareness.

The instructor will teach the class, be responsible for assessment and marking, and design at least two co‑curricular activities such as guest speakers, site visits or other appropriate events designed to expose students to new perspectives and help them integrate, apply, and synthesize key learning. The syllabus has been approved by our School of Record, however minor modifications can be made in agreement with the Academic Programs Manager.

This is a great opportunity for faculty, postdocs, and PhD students.
