Overview

The National Trust is renowned for its food and hospitality. We run 185 cafes, tea‑rooms and restaurants across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, and we’re looking for a Food and Beverage Team Member. The role is based in a rural area, so please consider your commute before applying.

Salary: £12.75 per hour

Contract type: Zero‑hour contract – we can’t guarantee a set number of hours each week. Flexibility is required; weekend and bank holidays are part of the role but evening or split shifts are not.

Contract duration: Fixed term until 30th November 2026

Applicants will complete an online assessment to replace a CV or application form.

Responsibilities

As a Team Member your main focus will be front of house, welcoming and looking after customers. You will provide outstanding service, make recommendations, keep food and drink standards high, maintain displays, and occasionally assist with kitchen duties. Training will cover allergens, food safety and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

  • No experience required – we’re looking for people who are happy to work in a team or on their own initiative
  • A people person who cares about providing great service
  • Enthusiastic and willing to learn
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
