Job Purpose
As a CAD Technician, you will work independently to create detailed and accurate technical drawings and models for various civil engineering projects, including bridges, civil, structural, and geotechnical engineering.
Responsibilities
- Produce high‑quality 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models for various civil engineering projects.
- Collaborate with engineers and project teams to ensure drawings accurately reflect design requirements.
- Modify and update drawings as required, incorporating changes and feedback from the design team.
- Maintain organised records of CAD files, ensuring that all documents are stored and controlled according to company procedures.
- Carry out administrative functions as required by the Senior Technician.
- Work to project timelines, budgets, and communicate with Project Managers.
Person Specification
Education
Diploma or certification in CAD Design, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Evidence of continuous professional development, progress towards Incorporated or Engineering Technician status.
Experience
Typically 3‑5 years of experience as a CAD Technician in a civil engineering consultancy or related field.
Awareness of BIM standards and ISO 19650 workflows.
Familiarity with databases, cloud‑based collaboration platforms (e.g., BIM 360/ProjectWise).
Skills
- Proficient in using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Revit.
- Good understanding of civil engineering design principles.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Additional Notes
Location: ≤60 mins travel time to Croydon office is preferable.
