As a Assistant Inspector of Works for building works on a public housing development project in North District, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the structural integrity and safety of the buildings in this development. We are currently seeking a candidate with the necessary expertise and responsibilities to fulfill the position.
Responsibilities
- Arrange and attend all pre-handover and handover inspections.
- Carry out inspection of defects and outstanding works at completion of the Works.
- Assist in vetting the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and carry out inspections according to the EMP, and compile inspection reports.
- Check site safety, security and environmental protection measures.
- Monitor and report immediately any unavailable technical approvals before the inspections of works to be covered up.
- Maintain and update site record and inspection record.
- Assist in preparing Supervision Plan.
- Conduct site supervision, inspection and checking.
- To work with and monitor the performance of Direct Testing Contractor (DTC) and Material Testing Management Unit (MTMU) for construction materials and works quality testing.
- Participate in safety auditing.
Here’s what you’ll need
- Higher Diploma or Higher Certificate in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Geotechnical Engineering from Hong Kong Polytechnic University/Polytechnic, the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education/Technical College/Technical Institute, or an equivalent institution.
- Language proficiency requirements: Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (DSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent.
- For non‑degree holders: A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience, of which 3 years must be post‑qualification. For Bachelor’s degree holders: A minimum of 2 years’ post‑qualification relevant experience as an Assistant Inspector of Works.
- Proficiency in English and Chinese languages.
- The qualification and experience shall comply with the requirement of TCP grade T3 as shown on Table 2 of Technical Memorandum for Supervision Plans 2009.
