Job Description:

We are working with a well‑known primary school in Saltburn who are seeking learning support assistants/classroom support workers.

You will be supporting students with their academic, personal and social development in a specialist learning environment. The role is demanding, challenging, and very rewarding.

Responsibilities:

  • Support learners with Autism, moderate learning difficulties and varying levels of behaviour.
  • Use a reflexive approach to learners, their learning and needs.
  • Work creatively, pro‑actively and show emotional resilience when engaging learners who may have had a negative experience of education.

Hours: 8:30‑3:30 Mon‑Fri

The ideal person:

  • Experience working in a similar environment or with young people who may present challenging behaviours.
  • Resilience, patience, compassion and understanding.
  • Proactive, creative and empathetic.
  • Adherence to the school’s policies and practices.
