Location: St Mary Magdalen RC School, Spring Street, Brighton, BN1 3EF.
Salary: £32,916 – £45,352 pro rata.
Hours: Part‑time (5 mornings) – Fixed Term (dependent on funding); Fixed term: One academic year; Start Date: September 2026.
Job Description
St. Mary Magdalen’s is a lively, vibrant and successful Catholic Primary and Nursery School in the heart of Brighton, seeking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic and talented part‑time SEND teacher from September 2026. The successful candidate will be an experienced and effective classroom practitioner able to teach across the 5–11 age range, demonstrate secure knowledge of the National Curriculum, and use specialist expertise in adaptive teaching, assessment and intervention to deliver high‑quality, inclusive education that enables all pupils—particularly those with SEND—to achieve their full potential, while upholding the school’s Catholic ethos and contributing to a culture of high expectations, inclusion and care.
Responsibilities

- Demonstrates excellent, effective professional practice with strong behaviour management skills and high expectations for all children.

- Inspire learning through a creative, enriched, and adaptive curriculum within an outstanding environment.
- Builds excellent relationships with pupils, parents/carers, colleagues, and external agencies.
- Has energy, enthusiasm, and a flexible, creative approach to teaching and provision.
- Works collaboratively with the SENDCo, class teachers, and teaching assistants to plan and deliver learning within the Inclusion Intervention Space.
- Effectively delivers a bespoke curriculum for pupils with delayed learning and communication needs.
