Job Description:

Working as key member of the NPD team you will be responsible for creating and gaining approval on all finished product specifications within the business.This may form the creation of documentation on retailer prescribe systems or on internal templates.

As part of this process adherence to the product’s critical path is key to ensure launches are kept within company objectives and the product is launched to a high standard and on the requested launch date.

This is a customer facing role and you are expected to support the account managers and technologists with presentations and customer visits.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Calculating recipes to generate ingredients declarations required for all NPD product submissions, and translating this information onto product passports, gate paperwork, internal templates, or a retailer prescribe formats in readiness for customer meetings.

Generation of pack copy information for the creation of artwork, and managing the artwork sign off process to ensure that all packs are legal in the country sold.

Creation of internal codes that are required to set new products and recipes up on the system.

Maintenance of the site NPD files to ensure they are accurate and up to date.

In conjunction with the NPD technologist ensure that all samples are sent off in a timely fashion for nutritional, cook verification, and shelf life analysis and the information is received back and communicated on product specs

In conjunction with the NPD technologist ensure that all finished product QAS are available and signed off by the customer for product launch.

Communication with the customer to ensure they understand where they are in their development process.

Assist with other technical documentation that maybe required as part of the overall NPD process and export process.

Ensure all information is presented in an accurate and professional manner and ensure that all information presented meets the required brand guidelines where appropriate.

Key task/results

On time management of artwork to ensure print deadlines are met

On time management of finished product specifications to ensure they are signed off and active for launch.

Qualifications and Experience

Min 4 years’ experience in food manufacturing environment with knowledge of retailer technical systems such as FIND, Inspire, Aspect, Mcreate, WRspec

BSc or equivalent in Food Science / Technology

Legal Labels / artwork training

Competent with mathematics

Person Specification

The person needs to be fully competent with all major software packages

Good communication / interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across departments / suppliers and external customers

Strong organisational, project management and co-ordination skills to assist with critical path deadlines

Is able to effectively time manage – To structure day efficiently with regards to differing priorities / workloads as well as working to tight deadlines

Working knowledge of the factory and raw materials currently used on site

Key team player and eager to learn

Hardworking and passionate with an eye for detail

Technical knowledge on food safety and functionality of key ingredients / additives for declaration purposes
