Are you a dedicated Study Skills Mentor passionate about helping students achieve their academic potential?

Randstad Student Support is looking for experienced one‑on‑one Study Skills Support Workers to assist students with specific learning difficulties (SpLDs) in St. Andrews. Join us in making a difference in their educational journeys! Starting as soon as possible, this hybrid role requires flexibility for both in‑person and online sessions, tailored to student preferences.

Essential Criteria

  • Teaching or tutoring experience
  • In‑depth knowledge of learning difficulties that students may have

As a Specialist Study Skills Support Worker, you’ll provide personalized learning support, including:

  • Developing individual learning plans to foster independence
  • Building on strengths and effective learning strategies
  • Enhancing organization and time management skills
  • Creating action plans to stay on track
  • Improving research and comprehension skills
  • Experience assisting students with Autism – a significant advantage

It is essential to address student needs on a case‑by‑case basis while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality. Sharing relevant information with Randstad ensures the best service for your students.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working with clients with specific learning difficulties
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to identify ways of helping students build on their learning strengths while maintaining a confidential and professional working relationship

  • Relevant professional body memberships: PATOSS, BDA, ADSHE, DG
  • Ability to manage a caseload of students
