Job Purpose:
- Provide high‑qualityclass cover for PPA and other release time under the overall direction of theHeadteacher.
- Deliver targetedsupport for identified pupils, individually or in small groups, toaccelerate progress.
- Follow allschool policies to meet the learning, care and safeguarding needs of children.

CurriculumSupport
- Deliver plannedlearning experiences as directed by the class teacher.
- Promoteinclusion and ensure all pupils feel valued and supported.
- Respond toindividual learning needs and provide appropriate scaffolding.
- Encouragecooperative learning and active engagement in lessons.
- Organise andmaintain an effective learning environment and appropriate resources.
- Prepare andadapt resources that reflect pupils’ interests, language and culturalbackgrounds.
- Use a range ofteaching and learning strategies to support progress and communicateexpectations.
- Monitor andevaluate pupils’ learning and contribute to planning and assessment inline with the school’s Assessment Policy, which includes marking andfeedback,
- Provide feedbackto children, teachers and the Inclusion Leader as required.
- Use relevantstrategies to support behaviour management, following the school’sbehaviour policy.
- Accompany pupilson school visits and support learning in unfamiliar environments. The timing of such visits may overrunthe school day.
- Contribute toschool priorities within the Raising Achievement Plan.
- Assist with thesupervision of tests and assessments.
- Reinforcelearning during group work or individual support sessions.
Managementof Pupils
- Welcome childrento school and supervise them until the start of the school day as part ofthe government’s universal breakfast club offer.
- Build andmaintain positive, respectful relationships with pupils.
- Supportbehaviour in a manner that considers pupils’ personal, social andemotional needs.
- Implementrewards and sanctions in line with school policies.
- Promote a calm,purposeful and well‑disciplined learning environment.
- Supervisechildren at lunch and break times on a rota.
Teamwork& Collaboration
- Work effectivelyas part of a team, sharing information, ideas and expertise.
- Participate inINSET days and ongoing professional development and learning.
- Liaiseprofessionally with parents, carers and external professionals inaccordance with school procedures.
