Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: Trimdon Hill School, Durham, TS29 6EY

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Mon–Fri; Mon: 8:30‑5:00, Tue: 8:30‑4:30, Wed: 8:30‑5:00, Thu & Fri: 8:30‑4:00)

Salary: £22,160.62 per annum (not pro‑rata)

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

Start Date: September 2026

Eligibility: UK applicants only – no sponsorship available

What You’ll Do

• Support children and young people with SEND, including complex needs, to access learning and achieve personal goals
• Assist with engaging classroom, outdoor and enrichment activities tailored to individual needs
• Provide emotional, behavioural and practical support to help pupils feel safe, valued and understood
• Encourage independence, communication, positive relationships and social development

Who We’re Looking For

• GCSE Maths and English or equivalent at Grade C/4 or above required
• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
• A calm, compassionate, and proactive approach
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Willingness to learn and develop professionally
