Tradewind Recruitment is working with a welcoming and high-achieving secondary school in Camden seeking a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026 on a full-time, long-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring teacher to build confidence, develop classroom skills, and gain hands‑on experience in a supportive and fast‑paced environment.
Role Overview
As a Maths Graduate TA, you will play a key role in supporting students across KS3 and KS4, helping to raise attainment and confidence in mathematics. Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting students in Maths lessons on a 1:1 and small group basis
- Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management
- Breaking down complex mathematical concepts into clear, engaging explanations
- Delivering targeted interventions for students who need additional support
- Stretching and challenging high‑achieving students
- Supporting with lesson preparation and resource creation
- Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
- Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in lessons
Requirements
- A degree in Mathematics or a related subject (essential)
- A strong desire to pursue a career in teaching
- Excellent subject knowledge and confidence in Maths
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive, enthusiastic, and resilient approach
- Experience working with young people (desirable but not essential)
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
