Driver Trainer

Main duties of the job

The post holder will deliver both emergency and non‑emergency driving education, inclusive of high‑speed driving assessments. They will ensure that all requirements for the awarding and accrediting bodies are adhered to and maintained to ensure compliance with relevant standards, directives and policies. The post holder will deliver sessions both within education centres and in operational settings in accordance with the Trust’s needs.

The post holder will also be responsible for an individual portfolio of education (non‑driving), such as Conflict Resolution, Corporate Induction, Statutory and Mandatory Training etc. throughout the Trust and provide subject‑matter expertise as allocated by the Education Manager for Driver Training.

The post holder will act as the subject‑matter expert within a driving setting, work within the framework of the curriculum to ensure safety is maintained and appropriate parameters are met, and exercise discretion to ensure standards are met.

Qualifications

  • L3 CERAD (FutureQuals) or historic Edexcel D1/D2, must be willing to convert if historic award held.
  • Level 4 Diploma in Emergency Response Ambulance Driving Instruction (FutureQuals)
  • Full UK manual driving licence with C1 and no points on the licence.
  • Qualified ADI
  • Level 3 Certificate and Vocational Assessor Award (CAVA).
  • Educated to Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training minimum, Historic Instructional methods will suffice IHCD.

Experience

  • Experience of using a variety of IT software packages.

  • Good organisational skills, can identify priorities and work effectively whilst under pressure.
