Company: Quantum Scholars
Apply for the SEMH Tutor – Hillingdon
Location: London
Job Description:

Quantum Scholars is currently seeking experienced SEMH Tutors to deliver 1:1, face‑to‑face tuition for primary and secondary pupils receiving Education Otherwise Than at School (EOTAS) provision across Hillingdon.

As a trusted provider within Hillingdon Council’s alternative provision network, we support pupils who are not currently accessing mainstream education. Many of the learners we work with have additional needs, including SEND, ADHD, Autism, SEMH, behavioural challenges, or medical conditions.

This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with individual pupils, delivering personalised sessions that build confidence, develop core academic skills, and support their transition back into education.

Sessions usually take place in the pupil’s home or an appropriate community setting such as a library, with tutors responsible for planning and delivering lessons tailored to each learner’s needs.

Role Overview

  • Deliver 1:1 tuition to primary and secondary pupils outside of mainstream education
  • Flexible, part‑time hours based on your availability
  • Sessions take place during school hours, so daytime availability is essential
  • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact on pupils’ progress and wellbeing

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, Autism, ADHD, or behavioural needs
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to work in the UK (please note, sponsorship is not available)
  • Ability to travel to Hillingdon for in‑person sessions

Please note: We are unable to offer Skilled Worker visa sponsorship, and applications requiring sponsorship cannot be considered.

We are looking for tutors who are passionate about making a difference while benefiting from flexible working and the opportunity to deliver impactful, one‑to‑one support.
