We are looking to appoint a dedicated and caring Teaching Assistant to primarily work 1:1 with a Key Stage 2 pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The pupil has identified needs relating to Autism (ASD) and ADHD and requires consistent, structured support to access the curriculum and participate fully in classroom life. The child is able to access the learning, but their needs mean that they need support to stay focused and manage the day.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualised 1:1 support for a KS2 pupil with ASD and ADHD within the classroom environment from 9am until 2pm Monday to Friday
- Support the pupil to access learning activities and the wider curriculum
- Support the development of literacy, numeracy and communication skills
- Work closely with the class teacher to adapt resources and learning tasks
- Implement strategies outlined in the EHCP and external professional guidance
- Use structured routines and clear communication to support learning and behaviour
- Support attention, emotional regulation and sensory needs where required
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to plan and review support strategies
- Promote the pupil’s independence, confidence and social interaction skills
- Assist with behaviour management in line with school policy
- Build a positive and supportive relationship with the pupil
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience working with primary-aged children (preferably KS2)
- A good understanding of supporting pupils with additional needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of strategies such as visual supports, sensory regulation and structured routines
- A calm, patient and consistent approach to supporting behaviour
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable
