Healthcare Assistant (HCA) Cardiac, GP & Imaging Support
This is a diverse, multi-disciplinary role suited to an individual who enjoys working across different areas of healthcare.
The successful candidate will
Primarily support and deliver cardiac diagnostic tests (full training provided)
Assist GPs with clinical tasks including phlebotomy
Support radiographers within imaging services when required
This role offers a clear development pathway into a Cardiac Technician position.
Main duties of the job
Cardiac Diagnostics (Primary Focus)
Perform ECGs
Fit and manage Holter monitors
Fit and manage ambulatory blood pressure monitors
Prepare patients and support cardiac screening clinics
Take ownership of day-to-day delivery of cardiac testing services
(Full training and competency sign-off will be provided where required)

We are seeking a motivated and adaptable Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our team in a varied, hands-on clinical role with a strong focus on cardiac diagnostics, alongside support for GP and imaging services.
Job responsibilities
Cardiac Diagnostics (Primary Focus)
Perform ECGs
Fit and manage Holter monitors
Fit and manage ambulatory blood pressure monitors
Prepare patients and support cardiac screening clinics
Take ownership of day-to-day delivery of cardiac testing services
(Full training and competency sign-off will be provided where required)
GP & Clinical Support
Perform phlebotomy to support GP services
Assist clinicians with patient flow and clinical procedures
Support general clinical operations within the clinic
Imaging Support
Assist radiographers with:
Clinic flow and throughput
General operational support
Ensure patients are comfortable and well-informed throughout their visit
Patient Care & Safety
Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care
Maintain patient dignity, privacy, and safety
Undertake Immediate Life Support (ILS) training (provided by TIC Health)
Operational & Site Responsibilities
Maintain clinical rooms and equipment
Adhere to infection control and health & safety standards
Support smooth day-to-day clinic operations
Person Specification
Experience
- Previous experience in a healthcare or clinical environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Motivated, proactive, and adaptable
- Willingness to learn and develop across multiple clinical areas
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Experience in ECG or cardiac diagnostics
