We are looking for a warm and friendly Wellbeing and Activities Coordinator to join our friendly care home team;

Greystone House is a friendly family ran residential care home, providing care and support for 23 residents with enduring mental health problems.

In this role, you will help make each day meaningful and enjoyable for our residents by planning and delivering engaging activities that support wellbeing, choice and quality of life. From one‑to‑one time to small group activities, you’ll build genuine relationships and help residents continue hobbies, interests and connections that matter to them. This essential role helps to empower our residents, whilst creating a positive and engaging atmosphere.

The hours of employment will be 5 x 4 hour shifts per week (20 hours per week), this may include weekdays and weekends, mornings, afternoons, or evenings, on a flexible working rota depending on the planned activities. The successful candidate must also be available to provide additional relief cover for holidays and sickness.

Role Includes

  • Helping residents to socialise within and outside the care home.
  • Encouraging staff members, relatives and friends to participate in the activities.
  • Organising one to one activities, and group activities to suit the needs and preferences of our residents.
  • Planning ongoing weekly activity rotas in conjunction with our residents wishes.
  • Maintaining full and accurate records of activities using the relevant documents, in order to monitor, record and evaluate individual and group participation and success.
  • To keep abreast with new developments in the field of caring for people.
  • Fostering good community relations and assisting in the organisation of fund‑raising initiatives within the home.
  • Observing special occasions in the calendar by planning activities and events.
  • Planning and hosting any special events within the home such as coffee mornings, summer fetes etc.
  • To assist the Home Manager in actively marketing the home and promoting a positive profile within the community.

  • Passionate about supporting wellbeing in later life
  • Confident engaging with residents, families and staff
  • Experience in a care or community setting is desirable but not essential
