About Us
Brompton Hall School is a Special Education School for pupils aged 8 to 16, located in the village of Brompton-by-Sawdon. The school is part of a Multi Academy Trust that includes mainstream and specialist schools across North Yorkshire, Hull and South Yorkshire, aimed at ensuring exceptional progress for all pupils through outstanding staff.
Our Pupils
We support pupils with social, emotional and mental‑health difficulties (SEMH). Pupils come from mainstream schools to benefit from bespoke behavioural support and a personalised approach that helps them succeed. We use a therapeutic approach called Thrive, which provides practical strategies and online assessments to create action plans tailored to each child’s emotional and social development.
Our Opportunity
We are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious Grade 6 Senior Achievement Support Officer to join our team and support the delivery of activities at Brompton Hall School. The role involves working in and beyond the classroom, contributing to lesson plans, and using your expertise to offer custom learning experiences for children with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure pupil welfare and safety
- Deliver targeted interventions and use ICT to enhance learning
- Lead out‑of‑school activities and supervise students
- Manage resources and adapt strategies
- Provide clear feedback and support planning
- Assist with behaviour plans and safeguarding procedures
- Encourage pupil engagement and independence
- Attend meetings, follow policies and contribute to school success
Essential Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (essential)
- Experience caring for or working with children of the relevant age group
- Understanding of the National Curriculum and codes of practice such as SEN and Equality
- GCSE English and Maths Grade A–C (or equivalent, e.g., Certificate in Adult Literacy / Numeracy Level 2)
- Ability to build strong relationships with children, motivating and developing them
- A passion for seeing young people succeed and resilience in challenging situations
