Job Description
A forklift truck service (workshop) engineer will diagnose and solve forklift faults, maintain equipment, and provide excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair and carry out planned maintenance of forklifts to Crown specifications.
- Develop knowledge of workshop procedures through on‑job training and colleague shadowing.
- Attend manufacturers’ training and other relevant courses.
- Complete Crown administrative procedures – worksheets, timesheets, etc.
- Maintain cleanliness and security of customer forklifts in the workshop.
- Manage tools and spare parts – ensure correct use and issue.
- Follow Crown company, legislative and Health & Safety procedures.
- Ensure all work meets industry and Crown standards under close supervision.
- Build and maintain good relationships with customers, colleagues and managers.
- Undertake other duties as reasonably requested by Crown.
Essential Skills
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
- Keen interest in engineering.
- Friendly and able to build relationships with customers and colleagues.
- A* – C grades (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
- IT literate – familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel or equivalent.
- Ability to work efficiently, accurately and meet deadlines.
- High motivation, flexibility and dependability.
- Good interpersonal, communication and literacy skills.
- Capacity to prioritise workload and work independently.
- Aptitude for practical science or engineering.
Desirable Skills
- Demonstrable interest in mechanical engineering from school or hobby activities.
Vacancy Details
Hours of work: Monday to Friday – 8 hours.
