About The Role

We’re looking for a Customer Liaison Apprentice to join our North East customer team, working alongside experienced colleagues to support communication with customers and stakeholders on projects delivered on behalf of our client.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to start a career in customer and stakeholder engagement within the infrastructure sector (such as utilities and construction projects). You’ll gain hands‑on experience on live projects while completing a Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship, with structured support, mentoring and clear development opportunities.

This is an office‑based role, working 37.5 hours per week, with some travel to project sites across the North East.

What You’ll Do

  • Supporting Customer Liaison Officers with day‑to‑day customer and stakeholder engagement activities, following clear processes and guidance
  • Assisting with customer communications such as letters, notifications and project updates
  • Maintaining accurate customer and stakeholder records, logs and trackers
  • Helping to log, track and follow up enquiries, issues and complaints
  • Gathering information and evidence to support customer feedback and reporting on the positive impact our projects have on local communities
  • Supporting the coordination of meetings, including note taking and clearly recording agreed actions
  • Maintaining documents and records using SharePoint and other project systems, using agreed templates and processes

Essential

  • 5 GCSEs grade A‑C (4‑9); subject must include English and Maths
  • An interest in customer, stakeholder or community‑focused work
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Able to communicate clearly in writing and verbally, with support where needed
  • Works well as part of a team
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn, with the ability to ask questions and seek guidance when needed

Desirable

  • Experience in a customer service, administrative or project environment
  • Familiarity with document management systems such as SharePoint
  • An interest in construction, utilities or infrastructure projects
  • A full UK driving licence (preferred, due to occasional travel to sites)
