Staff work collaboratively to provide a structured and inclusive learning environment where pupils are supported to build confidence, resilience and independence throughout their secondary school journey.
About the Role:As a Teaching Assistant (Secondary), you will work closely with teachers to support students across KS3 and KS4 lessons. You may provide in‑class support, work with small intervention groups, and assist students who require additional help with behaviour, engagement or learning. The role involves supporting pupils across a range of secondary subjects while helping maintain a focused and productive classroom environment.
Responsibilities
- Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce learning
- Provide targeted support for students with additional learning or behavioural needs
- Help maintain positive behaviour and classroom routines in line with school policies
- Support student engagement, confidence and participation during lessons
- Assist with preparing classroom resources and learning materials
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff where appropriate
Requirements
- Previous experience working with secondary-aged students is desirable
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- Confident, proactive and adaptable approachAbility to build positive relationships with teenagers and young people
- Good understanding of classroom expectations within secondary education
- Genuine interest in supporting student progress and wellbeing

- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years
- Have an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education
