Community Healthcare Assistant – Toressa Community Nursing Team (Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust)

The Community Nursing Service in Cornwall offers a role for a motivated and enthusiastic Community Health Care Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for delivering nursing care to patients in their own homes, including those approaching end‑of‑life. The role will involve planned nursing care such as wound care, venepuncture, catheter care, pressure area care and delivering personal care to end‑of‑life patients.
Main Duties
- Carry out assigned tasks while working without direct supervision, providing direct care to patients and carers to support the registered nurse.
- Work as a member of the community nursing team within a defined geographical area.
- Cover the East PCN community nursing team from 8am to 10pm, with staff working 7.5‑hour shifts.
Qualifications and Experience
- NVQ Level 3 qualification in care or equivalent experience.
- Evidence of experience in a care setting.
- Trained in venepuncture or willing to undertake relevant training.
- Additional relevant training in health‑care.
Skills and Aptitude
- Ability to work without direct supervision and manage time restraints.
- Ability to deal calmly with stress and distressing situations.
- Ability to cope under pressure.
