Job description: As an HGV Class 2 Dustcart Driver (Refuse Driver), you will be responsible for carrying out residential and commercial waste collections across East Lothian, working alongside a team of loaders to complete routes safely and efficiently.
This is a hands‑on Class 2 driving role ideal for reliable drivers with experience in waste management, refuse collection, or dustcart driving.
Key responsibilities include:
- Driving a Class 2 dustcart / refuse vehicle
- Completing scheduled waste and recycling collections
- Working alongside and supporting a team of refuse loaders
- Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks
- Following all health & safety and waste management regulations
- Completing all route paperwork and documentation accurately
- Delivering a professional and reliable waste collection service
Pay & Benefits:

Requirements:
- Valid HGV Class 2 Licence (Category C)
- CPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence)
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Previous dustcart / refuse driving experience preferred
- Good understanding of UK driving and safety regulations
- Reliable, punctual, and team‑oriented attitude
