The Royal College of Art is seeking a collaborative and organised Journals & E-Resources Librarian to join its Library team within the Education and Student Success Directorate.
Working as part of the Collections & Systems strand, you will manage the Library’s print journals and electronic resources, ensuring effective access to high-quality scholarly content that supports teaching, research and creative practice across the College’s three campuses.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage print journal and e-resource subscriptions, licences and renewals
- Maintain access to e-journals, databases and online platforms
- Monitor usage data and present statistics to support decision making
- Manage journals and e-resources budgets and expenditure
- Liaise with suppliers and sector partners, including Jisc
- Promote Library resources through guides, training and communications
- Contribute to enquiry services and collaborative Library projects
The role is primarily campus based, with occasional agreed home working. Evening and Saturday shifts are required on a rota basis.
About You
You will have:
- A professional qualification in Library or Information Science
- Experience managing journals and e-resources in an academic or specialist library
- Experience managing budgets and analysing usage data
- Knowledge of e-resource access and academic publishing developments
- Excellent organisational, communication and teamwork skills
An interest in contemporary art, design and culture is desirable.
