Casual Food & Beverage Assistant

Hand Picked Hotels is a collection of 21 privately owned luxury country houses and coastal retreats. We are recruiting for a Casual Food & Beverage Assistant at Norton House Hotel & Spa, part of Hand Picked Hotels.

Norton House Hotel & Spa is a historic Georgian country house in Edinburgh, offering stylish dining and modern comforts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food and beverage service areas to Hand Picked Hotels standards, maintaining high standards of presentation.
• Maintain knowledge of menu items, ingredients, allergens and preparation style, and provide accurate product descriptions and recommendations.
• Assist with wine list knowledge and stock availability, and understand basic principles of food and wine matching.
• Work enthusiastically with team members to achieve departmental goals and ensure the guest experience.
• Maintain a positive, inspiring attitude and enjoy being part of the Hand Picked team.

About You

• Have current knowledge and experience of food and beverage in a quality‑driven hotel, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
• Be enthusiastic, willing to take on new responsibilities, and adopt a flexible approach to assist in different areas of the hotel.
• Possess a high level of emotional intelligence to anticipate guest needs and deliver the Hand Picked experience.
• Demonstrate ability to go above and beyond to ensure guests have a high‑quality, personalised, memorable experience.
