Front of House Assistant
Location: South West London (school based: on-site)
Contract: Temporary (4‑6 weeks)
Start Date: 01 06 2026
Pay: £12.50 – £13 per hour
Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:30 AM – 12:30 PM (20 hours per week)
We are currently recruiting for a Front of House Assistant to support a busy and welcoming school environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast‑paced setting, and has strong administrative skills.
You will be the first point of contact for visitors, parents, and pupils, ensuring a professional and friendly front‑office experience while providing essential administrative support to the wider school team.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet visitors, manage sign‑in/out processes, and provide a welcoming reception service
- Answer calls, take messages, and manage the admin inbox (forwarding and responding to enquiries)
- Handle incoming post and deliveries, ensuring prompt distribution
- Maintain meeting rooms and coordinate room bookings
- Provide general administrative support (filing, photocopying, Word/Excel tasks)
- Distribute registers and letters to classes and collect them daily
- Record pupil attendance and input data into Arbor (Pupil System)
- Complete daily meal number reporting for the school kitchen
- Take meeting minutes and assist with school event preparation
- Monitor and maintain stock of office supplies
- Support school communications, including Tannoy system usage
Key Requirements
- Previous experience in administration or front‑of‑house/reception (education setting desirable)
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills
- Confident using Microsoft Word, Excel, and email systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a busy office environment
- Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding requirements
- A proactive, flexible, and positive approach
- Comfortable interacting with children, including those with special educational needs or disabilities
- DBS check required
