Construction Tutor
Location: GloucestershireSalary: 31,000 – 35,000 depending on experienceContract: Full Time, PermanentHours: 40 hours per week
The Role
The successful candidate will deliver engaging practical and theory-based sessions across a variety of construction trades, supporting learners of different abilities and backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering practical and classroom-based sessions in areas such as bricklaying, carpentry, plastering, groundworks, and general construction skills
- Preparing lesson plans, schemes of work, and training materials
- Demonstrating safe and correct use of tools, equipment, and materials
- Assessing learner progress through practical observations and coursework
- Supporting learners with additional learning or behavioural needs
- Promoting high standards of health and safety within workshop environments
- Supporting employability skills, portfolios, and progression opportunities
- Maintaining learner records, reports, and compliance documentation
- Supporting curriculum development and continuous improvement activities
Qualifications
- Experience working within the construction industry
- Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in a relevant construction trade
- Strong practical construction knowledge across one or more disciplines
- Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one
- Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
- Passion for supporting and developing learners
