Evolito develops and manufactures class‑leading, lightweight, high‑power, and high‑torque‑density electric propulsion systems for a range of aerospace markets, including EVTOL, UAVs and General Aviation. The team is scaling rapidly with ambitious growth plans over the next twelve to eighteen months.
Responsibilities
- Set up test control system configuration in accordance with test requirements.
- Operate test rigs such as dynos, vibration/shaker, EMC and HALT/HASS chambers to test motors, controllers and electric drive systems.
- Support test programs conducted at external test facilities.
- Train junior team members on safe use of laboratory equipment and participate in commissioning of new equipment.
- Champion test processes including pre‑test assessments to ensure test readiness covering technical, operational and safety considerations.
- Support Engineers in the creation of test cases and procedures to meet project objectives.
- Conduct pre‑defined data analysis using existing analysis tools such as MATLAB & Python scripts.
- Solder and assemble wiring harnesses and other electrical assemblies for test instrumentation.
- Support Lead T&V Engineers in laboratory operations such as 6S, H&S and CoSHH documentation and training.
- Support Lead T&V Engineers in scheduling test facilities and rigs for the execution of test programs and ensuring stakeholders are informed.
- Take a leading role in laboratory equipment maintenance and calibration.
- Implement test system improvements and conduct test system FMEA.
- Liaise with external test equipment suppliers to ensure smooth lab operation and identify critical spares.
- Prioritise safety actions over other tasks and be mindful of the potential safety implications of all testing activities.
- Document and review laboratory procedures and safe systems of work.
- Support cross‑functional activities with software, controls and hardware electronics teams.
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering disciplines or equivalent knowledge and experience.
- Proven experience working in a test environment within automotive or aerospace with exposure to electrical motors or controllers.
- Experience setting up and operating test equipment to standard operating procedures.
- Ability to read and modify electrical schematics.
- Competency in wire and cable preparation, soldering, crimping and plumbing of low‑pressure fluid circuits.
- Competence in debugging electrical systems and conducting basic electrical tests such as impedance and continuity.
- Familiarity with CAN or RS‑485 standards.
- Experience with high‑voltage systems up to 1500Vdc.
- Good attention to detail and appreciation of the importance of good test data to the end user.
- Ability to lift up to 25kg on occasion with appropriate manual handling techniques.
- A flexible approach to work, with the desire to thrive in a dynamic, fast‑moving environment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise a varied workload.
