Affinity Workforce is working in partnership with schools and Multi Academy Trusts in Reading, and we are currently recruiting dedicated and compassionate SEND Teachers to support pupils with a range of additional needs.
We have a high demand for staff, offering both flexible day to day cover and longer term teaching placements. Whether you’re looking for immediate work, consistent bookings, or a long term SEND teaching role starting immediately or from September 2026, we can help find the right opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering tailored lessons to meet the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
- Planning and adapting learning activities in line with EHCPs and individual support plans
- Creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Managing behaviour effectively and supporting emotional regulation
- Working closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, and other professionals
- Monitoring and reporting on pupil progress and development
- Following school policies on safeguarding, behaviour, and health & safety
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (preferred)
- Experience supporting or teaching pupils with SEND (essential)
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
