Year 5/6 Teacher – Full-time, long-term temporary and ongoing from September 2026

The Year 5/6 Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons that support pupils as they prepare for the transition to secondary education. Duties as Year 5/6 Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons for a mixed Year 5/6 class in line with the national curriculum
- Create a positive, inclusive, and well‑managed classroom environment
- Support pupils’ academic progress and preparation for Key Stage 2 assessments
- Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet individual needs
- Differentiate lessons to support pupils with a range of abilities
- Maintain clear routines and high expectations for behaviour
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum planning and consistency
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers where required
- Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times
Ideal Year 5/6 Teacher:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Experience teaching in upper Key Stage 2
- Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
- Ability to motivate and engage pupils of varying abilities
- Organised, reliable, and committed to a long‑term role
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
