Main duties of the job

Job responsibilities

Package Description:

Shift details: 8.5 hours a day, Monday to Sunday, flexibility required to suit business needs

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Taking part in meetings with residents and Heads of Departments to discuss and agree catering functions across the home, and to address special needs or dietary requirements of residents.
  • Preparing nutritional food and beverages to a high standard, as directed by the Head Chef.
  • Supporting cost‑effective stock control systems to minimise waste and ensure these are in place.
  • Working with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to develop and review the menu on a regular basis.

  • Hold a catering qualification such as City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ or equivalent.
  • Hold Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Have a minimum of 1-year catering experience.
  • Demonstrate compassion and commitment to the delivery of high-quality culinary services to residents.
  • Be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
