EYFS SEN Practitioner – Gateshead
Full‑time, day‑to‑day opportunities available Monday‑Friday 8:30 am‑3:30 pm. We are recruiting dedicated and enthusiastic EYFS SEN practitioners to support children with ASD and challenging behaviours across SEN schools in the Gateshead area.
About the Role
- Provide high‑quality 1:1 and small‑group support to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and social, emotional or behavioural needs.
- Implement personalised strategies to encourage engagement, communication and emotional regulation.
- Collaborate closely with class teachers, SENCOs and wider school teams.
- Create a calm, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
- Use a positive behaviour support approach to respond safely to challenging behaviours.
- Follow individual EHCPs and contribute to progress observations.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with SEN children in EYFS or early years settings.
- Knowledge or experience of supporting children with ASD or challenging behaviours.
- A calm, patient and resilient approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Relevant childcare, education or SEN qualifications (desired but not essential).
- DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
