Sennen Education is working with a Specialist School currently recruiting an SEND LSA / SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team. The role involves working in a mixed ability class with children who have ASD, learning difficulties and challenging behaviour.
The position is full‑time, 5 days per week, for the entirety of the academic year and is expected to start as soon as possible. Reliability, commitment, punctuality and a warm, welcoming attitude are essential as staff may transition to permanent roles.
Responsibilities
Provide support in a mixed ability classroom, including support for students with complex learning difficulties, communication and language difficulties, challenging behaviours, acute medical needs, physical disabilities, sensory impairments and complex medical requirements. Work closely with teachers and support staff to deliver inclusive education and participate in school training.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum 3 months experience working with children.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Engaging, positive and reliable.
All candidates required to obtain a current, enhanced DBS Disclosure. Candidates not subscribed to the DBS Update Service may need to submit a new DBS application during registration.
