Room Manager (Pre-School)

We are looking for an experienced room manager to lead our group of children aged 3 to 5 years.

Our setting is warm and welcoming, dedicated to providing high-quality early years education in a nurturing and stimulating environment.

Our team is passionate about supporting children’s development through play, exploration, and strong relationships with their families.

The room manager position is pivotal within the nursery, responsible for delivering exceptional care and education while managing a small team. This role ensures that children are offered a safe and engaging environment in which they can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the daily running of the pre-school room
• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS framework
• Support children’s learning, development, and school readiness
• Observe, assess, and track children’s progress
• Build strong relationships with parents and carers
• Ensure safeguarding, health & safety, and compliance standards are met
• Support, motivate, and develop room staff through effective leadership

Requirements

• Level 3 (or above) qualification in Early Years / Childcare
• Previous experience working with children aged 3–5 years
• Experience in a senior or leadership role within a nursery setting
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS and Ofsted requirements
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• A genuine passion for early childhood education
