Remote Costing & Quotation Engineer

Position: Costing & Quoting Engineer

Location: Hatfield / Remote, (Initial Office-Based Training Required)

Proactive Global is seeking a motivated Costing Technician to join a leading electronics manufacturing company.

The successful candidate will work closely with Sales, Technical Services, and Purchasing teams to prepare accurate and competitive quotations for customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Review customer RFQs and documentation to accurately identify technical requirements and specifications for quotation preparation.
• Interpret engineering drawings, Bills of Materials and component data, with a strong understanding of electrical components.
• Liaise with suppliers and the Purchasing Department to obtain pricing and lead times, ensuring quotations are accurate and comprehensive.
• Use ERP systems and specialised quoting software to prepare and record quotations efficiently.
• Maintain awareness of costing calculations (e.g., margins, waste) to ensure alignment with sales targets.
• Pay close attention to detail to ensure all costings, documentation, and quotations are accurate.
• Manage workload effectively to meet deadlines and support team objectives.

Candidate Profile / Skills Required

• Strong IT skills
• Good knowledge of electrical components and technical documentation.
• Highly organised with excellent time management and attention to detail.
• Commercially aware and able to calculate accurate costs and margins.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and willing to learn.
• Strong communicator and team player.
