We are currently recruiting HGV Class 2 Dustcart Drivers in Burnley for a busy waste management contract, offering £16.50 per hour, ongoing work, and immediate starts available. This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced Class 2 drivers and newly passed HGV drivers looking to build experience within the waste sector.
Job description
As an HGV Class 2 Dustcart Driver (Refuse Driver), you will be responsible for carrying out residential waste and recycling collections alongside a dedicated team of loaders across Burnley and surrounding areas.
This is a hands‑on Class 2 driving role offering consistent local work, regular routes, and stable hours, ideal for drivers seeking long‑term opportunities in waste management and refuse collection.
Key responsibilities
- Driving a Class 2 dustcart / refuse vehicle
- Completing residential waste and recycling collections
- Working alongside a team of refuse loaders
- Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks
- Ensuring compliance with road safety and waste regulations
- Assisting loaders where required
- Completing all route paperwork and documentation accurately

Shift Pattern
- Monday to Friday
- 06:30 – 16:50

Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 2 Licence (Category C)
- CPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence)
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Good understanding of UK road safety regulations
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking attitude
- Ability to work well within a team environment
- Newly qualified drivers encouraged to apply
