Are you looking for an opportunity that is varied, challenging and offers the chance to enhance the supplier accounts process within our wider Property team? We have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Supplier Accounts Controller to work in a varied role and provide high‑level support to the Building Services function.
The Supplier Accounts Controller will lead the ongoing performance and invoice management for a number of maintenance suppliers across contracts worth approximately £75m. You will review selected invoices for allocated suppliers, support contractor performance through regular meetings, monitor KPIs, and address performance issues to drive continuous improvement. You will maintain excellent working relationships with Heads of Maintenance, Area Building Managers and the maintenance supply chain, and report to the Supplier Account Manager at our Retail Support Centre in Central Birmingham.
Responsibilities
- Review selected invoices for allocated suppliers to ensure they meet contract terms.
- Highlight non‑compliant invoices and return them to suppliers.
- Agree prices for regularly occurring materials and compare performance with peer contractors.
- Conduct regular supplier meetings, monitor KPIs and address performance issues.
- Manage contractor performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure company liquor and associated licences are not endangered.
- Ensure health, safety considerations are paramount in all decisions and activities.
- Read and understand relevant sections of contracts for allocated suppliers.
- Ensure that the financial terms and contractual KPIs are adhered to.
- Ensure that contractual rates are reflected in the CAFM system.
- Report irregularities or risks found, with recommendations for future actions.
- Provide training to allocated suppliers where required.
- Prepare and present reports to senior management.
Qualifications
- High level of attention to detail with the ability to manage a varied portfolio of suppliers.
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- High degree of self‑motivation.
- Understanding of maintenance or building processes preferred.
