Social Work Assistant – Area Services (Birmingham)

Working within a highly supportive team environment, you will play a vital role in supporting Social Workers and Team Managers in delivering high‑quality interventions and practical support to families across the city.
Responsibilities
- Manage an allocated worker caseload under the guidance of Social Workers and Team Managers
- Support the safeguarding and welfare of vulnerable children and young people
- Undertake assessments, gather and analyse information, and maintain accurate case records
- Provide practical day‑to‑day support to children and families
- Work closely with partner agencies and professionals to achieve the best outcomes
- Prepare accurate reports and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders
- Contribute positively within a collaborative and supportive team environment
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of legislation, policy, and best practice

- Organised, resilient, and able to manage competing priorities
- Strong communicators with excellent report‑writing skills
- Confident working collaboratively with professionals and external agencies
