Retail Assistant – Part Time, Early Starts
- Hours: 16 hours across 4 days per week.
- Pay: £10.95-£12.81 per hour.

We are looking to recruit a new retail assistant for our shop in Hartlepool, Durham. We offer a permanent part time position working a variety of shifts, with a minimum of 16 hours worked over 4 days from 7 each week, including weekends.
Please note that this position will require you to be available for shifts starting early in the morning. This position may not be suitable for you if you are not available for early morning work.
Pay & Benefits
The amount that you will earn depends on your age:
- Ages 16-20 = £10.95 per hour
- Ages 21+ = £12.81 per hour

Responsibilities
- Make all customers feel welcome with a friendly smile and simple hello.
- Help customers find the items they are looking for.
- Give a fast and friendly service at the tills, always offering help to pack and leaving a good impression with a friendly thank you and goodbye.
- Handle stock with care whilst working deliveries, quickly placing products into our freezers and onto our shelves ready for customers to buy.
- Work with the rest of the team to complete the daily and weekly routines that keep shops safe, clean and tidy.
Qualifications
- A friendly, positive, hard working approach to work.
- Enjoy being busy and able to jump from putting out deliveries to serving on the till, helping customers on the floor, completing cleaning and stock rotation routines.
- Be reliable – an important part of a small team, dependable on each shift.
- A bit of flexibility with shifts; rota’s are planned three weeks in advance, respect commitments outside work.
- Complete an Employment Verification check if successful and offered.
