Job Details

  • Expected Start Date: ASAP
  • Duration: 12 months initially with possibility to be made permanent
  • Pay: £40,000 – £45,000 depending on skills and experience
  • Expenses: Yes – travel, parking, own vehicle (E.ON tries to provide vehicle & fuel card – WORK USE ONLY)
  • Willingness to Travel: Essential
  • Hours of work: 7.4 hours (36 mins lunch) = 8 hour day / 37 PW, Mon‑Fri, opportunity for overtime. If made permanent possibility of call‑outs.
  • Shift pattern: 08:30am – 05:30pm

Job Purpose

Complete residential and occasional commercial planned and reactive HIU related installation and maintenance activities with a balance of hands‑on and managing appropriate resources, for all mechanical, electrical issues that impact/are likely to impact on the operational performance of the District Heating Network (DHN) and communal heating schemes throughout the Southwest London area.

Key Responsibilities

  • HIU installation and maintenance activities, servicing, breakdowns, upgrades.
  • Installation, commissioning, general plumbing and heating work (HVAC).
  • Follow correct working processes and capture accurate visit information.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety and PPE requirements.
  • Meet performance measures and KPIs set by the team leader/manager.
  • Support other teams to deliver necessary services to customers.

Development Opportunities

Experience and Qualifications – Essential / Desirable

  • NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent plus significant expertise in general plumbing, heating, mechanical essential, basic electrical advantageous.
  • Valid driving licence (mobile technician required).
  • Domestic gas boiler experience with relevant gas safety registration is an advantage.
  • HIU and DHN experience is an advantage.
  • Ability to innovate and challenge existing processes to improve efficiency.
  • Willingness to develop site by seeking best practice and improving plant operational and commercial performance.
  • Capability and willingness to achieve E.O.N’s required competency levels – SSOW, CSE.
  • Competence in understanding risk assessments, procedures, and processes.
  • IT skills, computers.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
