Construction Teacher – Alternative Provision

Full-Time | Monday to Friday
Up to £55,000 FTE DOE
We are exclusively supporting a specialist education provider in the search for passionate and adaptable Construction Teachers to join their expanding team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with young people who face barriers to mainstream education, helping them develop practical skills, confidence, and pathways into future employment and training.
You’ll deliver engaging Construction lessons in small groups and 1:1 environments, combining hands‑on learning with strong relationship‑building and meaningful pastoral support.

The Role
As a Construction Teacher, you’ll plan and deliver high‑quality, differentiated learning tailored to the individual needs of learners within specialist and alternative provision settings.
Working closely with Teaching Assistants, Coaches, and Mentors, you’ll help create a safe, engaging, and structured learning environment where learners can thrive both personally and academically.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering engaging Construction lessons and practical learning activities
- Planning lessons, assessments, and schemes of work
- Monitoring learner progress and completing regular reporting
- Supporting learner engagement, attendance, and behaviour
- Providing pastoral support and promoting positive outcomes
- Working collaboratively with support staff and external professionals
- Contributing to curriculum development and learner pathways
- Maintaining safeguarding and compliance standards
What We’re Looking For
Essential
- QTS, QTLS, or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience delivering Construction education or vocational training
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities
- Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
Desirable
- Experience within Alternative Provision, PRUs, SEN, or specialist settings
- Experience supporting learners with SEMH or additional needs
- IQA qualification
- Industry experience within Construction or vocational training environments
