HGV Driver

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well‑known and industry‑leading client based in the Basildon area. We are looking for multiple HGV Drivers to join the team.

Roles:

• HGV Class 1
• HGV Class 2

Shifts:

Monday to Friday

Hours:

Typically 9am starts

Pay Rate:

£15.36 per hour PAYE

The role:

• Securely moving and transporting premium and high value goods (parcels) to sub‑depots or collecting them from delivery units.
• Class 2 – 1‑2 drops and 5‑6 collections.
• Class 1 – 6‑8 pallet deliveries and then bulk collections.
• Focusing on safe driving and maintaining accurate paperwork throughout shift.
• Drivers may be required to assist with loading and unloading of the vehicle using a tail lift and pump truck.
• Interacting with customers and representing the company in a professional and courteous manner.

Requirements:

• Full UK driving licence with relevant entitlement.
• Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• 6 months minimum experience required.
• No more than 6 points on a licence (minor offences only).
• Full understanding of WTD legislation.
• Be prepared to undertake a short driving assessment for the position.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A safety‑first mindset.
