Your Role as a Materials Testing Technician

• Field-based, covering a region with UK travel as needed.
• Responsible for service, maintenance, and repair of testing equipment and instrumentation; examples include impact, tensile, universal, fatigue, stress, or torsion testing.
• Work within manufacturing sectors such as aerospace, automotive, and medical.
• Ensure equipment is calibrated and maintained to UKAS standards.
• Compile detailed reports as appropriate.
• The role requires nights away from home, averaging 1-2 nights per week.

Ideal Background for the Materials Testing Technician

• Knowledge of destructive materials testing equipment essential, especially impact, tensile, universal, fatigue, stress, or torsion testing.
• Approachable, honest, and team‑player attitude.
• Understanding of ISO/IEC 17025 beneficial.
• Strong IT and communication skills.
• Full valid UK driving licence and right to work in the UK.

• 30,000 – 40,000 basic salary, depending on experience.
