Welsh-speaking Cover Supervisors are needed in Welsh-medium and bilingual schools across Wales. The role is contract / long‑term / supply, starting ASAP, full‑time (part‑time considered) with a competitive daily rate based on experience.
About The Role
- Deliver pre‑planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
- Maintain positive classroom behaviour and a focused learning environment.
- Support pupils’ learning and engagement across a range of subjects.
- Communicate confidently in Welsh within Welsh‑medium and bilingual settings.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times.
- Provide feedback to teaching staff following lessons.
What We’re Looking For
- Fluent Welsh language skills (essential).
- Experience working with children or young people (school‑based experience desirable).
- Strong classroom presence and confidence managing groups.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply (Elementa can assist).
- Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration, or willingness to register.
Desirable
- Experience within Welsh‑medium education.
- A proactive and adaptable approach to classroom support.
- Interest in progressing into teacher training or a PGCE.
