Job Description:

Welsh-speaking Cover Supervisors are needed in Welsh-medium and bilingual schools across Wales. The role is contract / long‑term / supply, starting ASAP, full‑time (part‑time considered) with a competitive daily rate based on experience.

About The Role

  • Deliver pre‑planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Maintain positive classroom behaviour and a focused learning environment.
  • Support pupils’ learning and engagement across a range of subjects.
  • Communicate confidently in Welsh within Welsh‑medium and bilingual settings.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times.
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff following lessons.

What We’re Looking For

  • Fluent Welsh language skills (essential).
  • Experience working with children or young people (school‑based experience desirable).
  • Strong classroom presence and confidence managing groups.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply (Elementa can assist).
  • Education Workforce Council (EWC) registration, or willingness to register.

Desirable

  • Experience within Welsh‑medium education.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to classroom support.
  • Interest in progressing into teacher training or a PGCE.

Recruitment & Safeguarding Information

All applications will be managed by Elementa Support Services as the recruitment partner for the client. Candidates must meet all safeguarding and training requirements, including a successful interview, reference checks, safeguarding & Prevent training, and a 12‑week paid employment trial.

Candidate Commitment

  • Weekly pay – no waiting for monthly payroll cut‑off dates; Elementa pays one week in lieu.
