Main duties and responsibilities

  • The role of the Cover Supervisor is to supervise a class of pupils in the absence of a Teacher. This will be the primary role across the school day with Form Time/Registration cover.
  • This position requires no active teaching, marking or planning.
  • On occasions, when cover is light, such as at the beginning of terms, Cover Supervisors may also be required to help with the supervision of isolation, help with the invigilation of exams, or carry out administrative tasks.

Requirements

  • Experience of working with children (in either a paid or unpaid capacity), preferably in an education setting, is desirable.
  • An organised, thorough and committed individual with a strong ability to maintain discipline and focus.
  • The skills and confidence needed to keep the class motivated.
  • Above all, someone who possesses great energy, enthusiasm and dedication, and who is willing to throw themselves wholeheartedly into the life of this busy school.

Contract

  • Required for September 2026.
  • 31.25 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 3.15pm (including a 30 minute unpaid daily lunch break).
  • Term time only (38 weeks).
  • Grade H5, Actual Salary: £19,986 per annum.
  • Additional income can be generated by taking on lunchtime duties.
