Five Education is working with a specialist SEN provision in Bristol to recruit a committed and compassionate SEN Teacher to work with a KS3 class of pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
Role
- Deliver engaging, individualised learning experiences tailored to students with complex needs.
- Plan and deliver adapted lessons to meet the needs of pupils with PMLD.
- Lead a classroom supported by Teaching Assistants and support staff.
- Manage EHCP targets, progress tracking, and communication plans.
- Support pupils’ sensory, physical, and communication needs.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment.
- Complete marking, assessment, and planning responsibilities in line with a paid-to-scale role.
- Work collaboratively with therapists, SENCOs, and families.
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience working with SEN pupils, ideally within a specialist or inclusive setting.
- A strong understanding of, or interest in, supporting children with PMLD.
- Ability to deliver creative, flexible, and differentiated teaching approaches.
- Strong teamwork and classroom leadership skills.
- Applicants without a formal SEN specialism will be considered if they can demonstrate relevant SEN experience and a passion for inclusive education.
- Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship or Skilled Worker visa accepted).
- Provide two recent references (from the last two years).
- Hold a current DBS check registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one.
Pay
Paid to scale (MPS/UPS) and reflective of experience and responsibilities, including planning and marking.
