Our client is recruiting for an Apprentice Field Technician to join their team in the North West. The Level 4 Network Engineer apprenticeship programme will allow you to kick‑start your career in an industry that is constantly evolving, dynamic and transformational.
The Position
Job Title: Apprentice Field Technician
Apprenticeship Course: Level 4 Network Engineer
Apprenticeship Duration: 18 months
Location: North West
Working Hours: 37.5 hours
Salary: £18,000 – £20,000
About the role
During the 18 month apprenticeship you will learn all responsibilities and accountabilities of a Field Technician. You will carry out field‑based activities such as building and testing new solutions, de‑commissioning and de‑installing equipment for customers at premises and Vodafone’s core network sites. You will also be involved in repair activity, troubleshooting and replacing equipment.
Representing the brand and delivering excellent service to business customers is a key component. The role is physical, requiring manual lifting, climbing stairs, walking and being on your feet for large parts of the day, including indoor and outdoor environments. Work includes rooftop and ladder work up to 3 metres. Regular health assessments will be required.
After graduation, the role may involve lone working. Ability to work efficiently, safely and independently is essential. The position requires flexible working hours, including shift or standby rotations; weekday, weekend and night work may be required.
What we will be looking for in you
We seek self‑motivated, inquisitive individuals with strong communication and teamwork skills. A passion for technology, the ability to learn quickly, and a desire to provide the best customer experience are essential.
The candidate must be willing to travel off‑site and work at heights. Upon graduation a branded commercial vehicle will be provided; you must be able to park it at or near your home.
You should have a flexible attitude towards working hours and shifts. Availability for weekday, weekend, and night work may be required.
Eligibility Criteria
- Full clean driving licence
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above (including Maths and English) or equivalent qualification such as a Level 2 apprenticeship. GCSEs in Science subjects desirable.
- Have lived in the EU for 3 years or more and have the right to work.
- No qualification already at degree level (or higher) in the same subject.
- No apprenticeship of a similar level completed before.
- Age 18 or above on 1 September 2026.
