Senior Residential Children’s Support Worker

Shire are working in partnership with a provider of children’s services and have a permanent opportunity for a Senior Residential Children’s Support Worker based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire.

Our client is offering a full‑time position, 40 hours per week on average within a 3‑bed residential EBD home.

Hourly rate: £14.00 – £15.00 per hour + £50 per sleep in.

Full UK driving licence and Level 3 residential childcare is essential.

If successful, you will be working as part of a team providing support to children with EBD.

Responsibilities

• Attend staff meetings and supervisions.
• Be accountable for any decision made regarding the welfare of the young people and staff members during the shifts that you lead.
• Discuss any concerns with staffing matters with the Manager.
• Ensure that all staff members are kept up to date with changes to procedures.
• Provide support with reference to person‑centred support plans.
• Safeguard vulnerable children and report any suspicion or evidence of harm.
• Respect the confidentiality of information received at all times.
• Continuously commit to professional development.
• Be willing to cover other homes when required.
• Liaise with parents and/or carers and other professionals.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of working with young people.
• Full UK driving licence.
• NVQ Diploma level 3 in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
