Family Support Worker (Scale6) – Worcester – Full‑time, 37 hours per week.
We are currently recruiting for a compassionate and dedicated Family Support Worker to join a supportive team in Worcester. This rewarding opportunity is for someone passionate about making a genuine difference to the lives of children, young people, and families facing a range of challenges.
As a Family Support Worker, you will play a key role in helping families build stability, confidence, resilience, and brighter futures through practical and emotional support within homes and local communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with children, young people, and their families to provide tailored support and intervention.
- Work directly with families within their homes and local communities.
- Provide practical and emotional support based on individual family needs.
- Support parents in developing skills, confidence, and positive routines.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.
- Build strong partnerships with schools, social workers, and multi‑agency professionals.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to support and intervention plans.
- Manage challenging situations professionally and effectively.
Essential Requirements
- Experience working with children, young people, or families.
- Strong communication and active listening skills.
- An approach that is calm, non‑judgemental, and compassionate.
- Ability to build trusting professional relationships.
- Good organisational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant qualification or willingness to work towards one.
