Overview
We are recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a well‑established specialist provision in Newark. The role supports pupils aged 5‑19 with a wide range of needs—including autism, SEMH, communication difficulties, and complex learning needs—within a highly supportive and structured environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND.
- Support lesson delivery and classroom activities.
- Manage behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.
- Adapt support to meet individual needs (EHCPs).
- Encourage engagement, confidence and independence.
- Follow safeguarding procedures at all times.
Qualifications
- Experience supporting children with SEND in a school or care setting.
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
- Patient, calm and proactive approach.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- A genuine passion for supporting young people.
